Sustainable Arctic Shipping Risks Knowledge Exchange

About

The Sustainable Arctic Shipping Knowledge Exchange (SASKE) Community of Practice (CoP) was created in 2025 with the goal to create a space for dialogue on the risks and impacts of increased shipping activity across Inuit Nunangat.

Continuing the legacy of the IQP-ASR project and with the aim to establish new partnerships and collaborations the goal of this CoP will bring together multiple ways of knowing by fostering meaningful exchanges between western-trained researchers, local knowledge holders, youth, community members, policy makers, and industry partners. Through these conversations, we will identify and co-develop regional research priorities, while also addressing community concerns as they arise. Our primary goal is to promote and facilitate the sharing and mobilization of knowledge on shipping risks and impacts, supporting collaborative learning and action across regions.
